Astrid Josefina Gomez, LCSW

Bilingual Psychotherapist

Hi, my name is Astrid Josefina Gomez, and I’m a bilingual psychotherapist at Latinx Talk Therapy. I like to incorporate Maya perspectives and embrace cultural practices in the journey of healing. I also use the family systems theory and motivational interviewing in my approach.

As a Maya woman, I understand the complexity of navigating the Western world through this lens. I have a tri-cultural background, which means I was born into Western culture under a Latinx microscope while honing in on my Maya roots and gifts. No matter your background, I want to support you while learning more about yourself, your family, and those around you as you begin or continue your healing journey. I am here to provide a safe and sacred space to become the best version of yourself!

You Don’t Have to Face Your Struggles Alone, I Am Here to Help

I have worked with adults who have emigrated from their home countries, parents, individuals expecting a child, folks with substance use disorders, and young adults. – I have seen how being in one or more marginalized groups can impact mental wellness on several levels. I have helped folks combat shame, abandonment, fear, grief, and loss. Some of your loved ones might not fully comprehend what you are going through, but I am here to help you feel heard and validated and ultimately help you discover your true self.
