Marlen Granados, Intern
Bilingual Psychotherapist
Hello! My name is Marlen Granados (she/her/ella), and I’m a bilingual psychotherapist at Latinx Talk Therapy. My approach to therapy is person-centered, meaning I focus on caring for you as an individual, using empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence to foster personal growth. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help reframe thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a more positive light. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges.
You don’t have to face life’s struggles alone. My professional experience includes working with clients in mental health residential care, where I’ve supported emotional, social, and individualized growth through clinical interventions and goal setting. Whether you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, or acculturation challenges, I’m here to help you find balance and healing. Together, we will work through these experiences, focusing on growth and well-being.
- I meet with clients in person and virtually.
You Don’t Have to Face Your Struggles Alone, I Am Here to Help
Growing up on the South Side of Chicago as a first-generation Mexican-American Latina, I learned resilience from my family and community. I bring that strength into our sessions, offering a space where you can explore your emotions, experiences, and goals in a supportive, empowering environment. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by stress or struggling with mental health, I’m here to guide you on your journey toward healing.
Get to Know A Little Bit More About Me
I was raised in Brighton Park and have always been curious about how the world around us shapes our emotional and social development. I believe we all come from different walks of life, and my goal as your therapist is to create a space that feels safe and empowering for you. Outside of my work, I’m passionate about the simple joys of life—nature, music, and good food! I bring my adventurous, witty, and talkative personality into sessions, creating an open and engaging environment.
My Specialties
I specialize in working with the Latinx population, focusing on acculturation concerns, family and professional adjustment, attachment challenges, and trauma. I also provide treatment for depression, anxiety, stress, work-life balance, and relationships.
