“Helping you navigate identity, relationships, and family expectations with compassion, confidence, and cultural understanding.”

Bilingual Psychotherapist

Lucero Amaya | LCPC

Lucero Amaya is a bilingual, first-generation Latina therapist who is passionate about helping clients feel seen, supported, and empowered in their healing journey. As the eldest daughter of Mexican immigrants, Lucero brings a deep understanding of the complexities that can come with navigating identity, family expectations, and unfamiliar systems while finding your own path.

Her therapy style is warm, authentic, collaborative, and culturally responsive. Lucero creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can show up exactly as they are. She believes therapy should be flexible and tailored to what you need that day, whether that means laughing, crying, processing difficult emotions, or having a direct conversation that gently challenges you toward growth. Her approach integrates trauma-informed care, CBT, mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches to support meaningful and lasting change.

Lucero is especially passionate about working with first-generation students and young professionals, as well as women navigating perinatal mental health and matrescence. She commonly supports clients experiencing anxiety, family and relationship challenges, boundaries, self-esteem struggles, body image concerns, first-generation stress, generational trauma, burnout, and the complexities of familismo, marianismo, and cultural expectations.

At the heart of her work is the belief that healing does not have to mean abandoning your culture or your roots. Lucero hopes her clients leave therapy feeling supported, empowered, and reminded that they are never “too much.” Through therapy, she helps clients honor where they come from while giving themselves permission to grow, heal, set boundaries, and show up unapologetically as their most authentic selves, en confianza.

“Your identity, your roots, and your experiences all belong in the healing process.”
