Clinical Supervisor & Bilingual Psychotherapist
Ivan De Alba Romero is a bilingual therapist who offers a calm, grounded, and culturally responsive space for healing and self-discovery. As a first-generation Latinx therapist, Ivan understands the unique pressures many clients carry around identity, family expectations, emotional expression, and navigating life between cultures.
His approach to therapy is mindful, flexible, and collaborative. Ivan believes therapy should meet clients where they are while gently encouraging growth at a pace that feels safe and meaningful. He creates a relaxed and supportive environment where clients can slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves without judgment.
Drawing from mindfulness, CBT, DBT, somatic work, and culturally responsive approaches, Ivan helps clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and personal narratives. He is especially passionate about supporting first-generation students, Latinx professionals, and individuals navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, self-esteem struggles, relationships, and identity-related stress.
At the core of Ivan’s work is the belief that healing comes through awareness, self-compassion, and learning to embrace the full range of human emotions. He hopes clients leave sessions feeling more grounded, peaceful, and connected to themselves and their lives.
"You don’t have to explain your background here. I see you — and I’m here to help"
We know Latinx mental health is shaped by more than stress. Things like language, family loyalty, shame and gender roles al impact how we carry and express pain. You don’t have to translate your story here-we get it.
Christian supports Latinx adults navigating anxiety, depression, and self-worth. His work blends CBT, narrative therapy, and cultural attunement.
Whatever you’ve been holding in, you don’t have to keep carrying it alone. Whether you’re in Chicago or anywhere in Illinois, Christian is here to walk beside you, at your pace.
