Aprende Sobre Mí y Cómo Puedo Ayudarte
Andrea Bardac, LSW
Hello, my name is Andrea Bardac and I’m a bilingual psychotherapist at Latinx Talk Therapy. In my therapy sessions I like to include humor, mentorship, and Spanglish. My clinical approach is Integrative and Holistic and it is based on my clients experiences, preferences, and needs. I take a strengths-based approach when helping Latinx clients move towards their desired lifestyles and goals by self-esteem building, empowerment and self-exploration practices. I include art therapy, yoga and meditation. My theoretical approach includes a combination of Systems, Transpersonal, Psychosocial Development, Social Learning and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
As a Latina individual myself, I understand the importance of honoring and embracing our individual experiences. Our community faces adversities and injustices that have tainted our perspectives, and our mental health. Helping you heal, create goals, build confidence, and protect your energy is what my therapy approach is dedicated to. You will be able to identify negative and positive patterns, focus on solutions, and take control of your own healing, while learning about yourself, setting goals and living a fulfilled life.
No Tienes que Enfrentarte a Tus Luchas Solo, Estoy Aquí para Ayudarte.
In my past professional experiences, I have worked with children, adults, and families who have found themselves in stressful predicaments with no clear path to take. I have witnessed my clients beginning their therapeutic journey feeling anxious, severely sad, and depressed and eventually healing, taking control of their lives, and growing. I have also guided clients who simply want to chat about their current situation, find different options and support to accomplish their dreams.
Conoce Un Poco más Sobre Mí
I was born and raised in the south-west side of Chicago. I grew up in a Mexican-Romanian household in a predominantly Mexican-immigrant neighborhood. I am a native Spanish-speaker. In 2018 I became a certified yoga teacher and love teaching my own version of Child Yoga called “Young Yogi”. I incorporate yoga, art therapy and meditation. I am creative and enjoy participating in community projects that include initiatives to bring mental health awareness.
I began my career at DePaul University, obtaining my degree in Community Psychology and later working with children and families that were DCFS involved. I have also worked at UIC on Juvenile Justice research. I do interpretations for minors that are seeking asylum in the United States. I obtained my Master of Social Work degree and my second Master degree of Jurisprudence from Loyola University. Aside from being a psychotherapist at Latinx Talk Therapy, I am a program management consultant for Noble Street Charter School for an SEL program called Lion’s Pride.
